CANape is one of the engine development tools developed by the German company Vector. It is mainly applied for parameter optimization (calibration) of the electronic control unit (ECU), and simultaneously calibrates parameter values and acquires measurement signals during system operation. The physical interface between CANape and ECU may be either the CAN bus applying CCP (CAN Calibration Protocol) or FlexRay applying XCP protocol. In addition, CANape enables symbolic access to diagnostic data and diagnostic services through the integrated Diagnostic Feature Set, thereby providing full diagnostic tester functionality to the users. Featuring the application of standard protocols, CANape has become n open and flexible platform covering all stages of ECU development.
